CEOParra Learn Scope Project Plan
Stephen Andrews
(Regional VET Coordinator, Mt Druitt Cluster)
What is the purpose of your project?
To develop an understanding of Web 2.0 resources across VET staff in the cluster, and to commence utilizing these resources to support learning and teaching.
How can the introduction of Web 2.0 resources complement and enrich current learning and teaching practices?
Who is involved in your project?
VET teachers in the cluster will be informed of this project and invited to participate. It is anticipated that about five teachers will choose to be involved. Principal approval for their involvement will need to be acquired.
CEO personnel will be required to support and guide the learning of participants throughout the project.
Each participant will work with a peer mentor who currently utilizes Web 2.0 resources in learning and teaching. Mentors will be determined through consultation with CEO personnel, and may work in another school within the diocese and perhaps in another Framework or KLA.
What are you going to do in your project?
1. Introductory Phase:
· Pre-project survey on participants understanding of Web resources, including Web 2.0, and current use in learning and teaching.
· CEO representative introduces participants to Web 2.0 resources:-
o What is Web 2.0 and how is it different to earlier web resources?
o Examples of Web 2.0 resources.
· Participants explore Web 2.0 technologies, especially those related to their Framework.
· Participants assigned a peer mentor
· Participants commence reflective journal which documents learning and possible applications in learning and teaching.
2. Investigation Phase. Participants:
· engage in independent research into Web 2.0 resources and their use in learning and teaching, especially within their Framework.
· meet with peer mentor, who shares knowledge, skills and experiences in using Web 2.0 resources in learning and teaching.
· design an individual Web 2.0 learning and teaching project for implementation with VET students. Project needs to focus on syllabus competencies. This is recorded within their teaching program.
· continue documentation in reflective journal.
3. Implementation Phase. Participants:
· engage in the individual Web 2.0 learning and teaching project they designed.
· continue documentation in reflective journal.
4. Concluding phase. Participants:
· evaluate their individual Web 2.0 learning and teaching project as part of their learning journal.
· present their individual Web 2.0 learning and teaching project at a VET faculty meeting or staff meeting.
· plan the use of Web 2.0 resources in 2008 learning and teaching.
How will you know if you have achieved your purpose?
The purpose of the project would have been achieved if participants:
- developed their understanding of Web 2.0 resources
- commence or extend the use of them within their learning and teaching
Evidence of this achievement will be in the learning journal, teaching program, work samples (teacher’s or students’), and presentation to staff.
