What is the purpose of your project (why)?
Sentence: We will use a number of web 2 tools (Wiki’s and podcasts) to cover some area’s of the ITS and IPT course and look at using aggregators to manage the flow of information.
Question: Can we increase the contribution and enthusiasm of students by using Web 2 tools as a part of their course ? Can the tools also be used to help manage the increased flow of information that they are expected to cope with ?
Who is involved in your project (who)?
The key participants in the project will be the students, they are the ones who have to take on the use of the tools and be prepared to use them effectively.
Teachers participating in the project will need to make sure both themselves and the students have the skills to use the tools being advocated.
Some of the students have been introduced to the concept but others have not been included yet. The extent of their use has not yet been determined and the level of knowledge the students have in this area is not fully know yet.

What are you going to do in your project (what)?
·         Produce a variety of podcasts
·         Work on a number of class wiki’s
·         Provide a site or sites that will make the podcasts available for the whole cohort involved in their production
·         Possibly use aggregator to help the students track/manage the group work (not sure yet how effective this will be).

How will you know if you have achieved your purpose (how)?
·         If the groups can produce a wiki that adequately covers the given topic
·         If all members are able to make valid contributions (and this can be tracked)
·         If the level of enthusiasm/interest increases with the use of the tools (subjective but some feedback from students would help)
·         If students view the work as a resource they can use beyond just the class.
·         If the produced podcasts result in a better understanding of the topics covered.

Resources
Skills would be:
·         Ability to setup accounts for the tools we need to use
·         Research skills to find the data that will be included in the projects
·         Ability to use the video camera’s and then edit resulting footage
·         Ability to manage the tasks and group interaction (possibly using blogs/aggregators)
Resources would be:
·         Bandwidth to make the use of web based resources at school effective
·         Video editing and conversion software
·         Video cameras
·         Access to computer systems

Outcomes
Has there been a change in the engagement of the students using these tools in a learning environment
Is the work produced of an improved standard when compared to more traditional forms
